TNFDB: What to Expect
Through life, I've only learned that you can't fear the things that are around you, as long as you have a hero you believe in. That no matter what the case may be, you can always count on your hero to fix things up for you. But, as things have changed through life, I've learned that the only hero you can really count on is yourself. That no matter what situation you've put yourself into, you have to fix it yourself...I had to learn that the hard way.
I woke up from a long deep sleep, from the long flight to Michigan--my new home. I looked out the window, and caught the rare view of the breaking dawn, just beyond the many miles of mountains. The sight was beautiful, yet so affective, that I wish I was able to keep my eyes on that beautiful star forever without blinking or turning away.
"Passengers, please be seated while we prepare for landing. Thank you", announced the pilot from up front. Thirteen hours of flying, though it felt like an eternity, especially when the rows of seats are tight together and you have to stay seated throughout the whole flight. Sitting right next to me was my little foster brother, George; slumped down in his seat, sound asleep, as he hears his eardrum-shattering hip hop music from his gigantic expensive headphones his mother had bought a few months ago.
Ever since then, he's been using that horrible excuse for technology, and it never fails to annoy me so much. His music was on full blast, surprised that he actually fell asleep from it, and the fact that the battery from his mp3 player hasn't worn off just yet, really makes me want to swipe the headphones away from him and hide them for the rest of the day. As if he was born to be a man-made cyborg.
I turned my eyes to the front; two rows away on the right were my foster parents, Joseph and Linda. Young married couple, and really sweet people, yet their loving really didn't fulfill me as much. Joseph's a charming and very enthusiastic gentleman, but at times he can really become a real imaginative psychopath; he's a graphical artist and creates many crazy things he can come up with. I've got to admit, he really isn't bad at it when it comes to creating things on his own time and at work. Linda is also an artistic person; she's a fashion designer and creates many fabulous clothing, and at times she can also design a few special effects clothing. Technically it's not all the time when she decides to think outside the box and have fun for once; she's really into the modern society, and apparently never considers being humorous like Joseph. It's like living with a grey human being.
I couldn't recognize the area, despite living a few states away from here, I really couldn't tell if we were really close, or the pilot constantly overreacts. Only person to ask was Joseph; this was his homeland back when he was a kid.
I took out my flip phone from my back pocket, and texted him *How much longer till we reach the AP?*
A moment later, he replied back *Arg', we be mighty close lassie, I can smell land from a mile away!*
Yeah, really enthusiastic.
We finally reached the airport, and were able to get off. Such sweet bliss once I got off the transportation of doom; stretching my arms and legs was such a relief.
